Our Commitment to Staff Development:
Our employees are the “face” of Bollig Inc, and as such, staff development is a high priority. Bollig believes service to our clients is optimized with advanced development of our employees’ skills. Therefore, motivated employees are given opportunities for training and professional development. Current Bollig employees have enjoyed advanced-skill training at out of state seminar locations, participated in PSMJ Project Management Boot Camps, attended WEFTEC in Chicago, and chosen other training opportunities to explore. These staff development opportunities also allow our employees to network on national and worldwide platforms with experts in the civil engineering fields, as well as to meet with vendors to see and feel the latest equipment and practices.
Our Growth:
Bollig Inc has been growing every year. Our ability to deliver or exceed client’s expectations is driven by our qualified staff of engineers, technicians, funding specialists and support staff.
Our Culture:
Our goal is to find and hire passionate people with values based on trust, responsiveness, and reliability. Bollig Inc promotes a flexible, team-focused environment where optimal customer service is at the forefront of everything we do.
Flexible Working Hours:
There are times when standard hours do not fit everyone’s schedule or personality. When workable and within our client’s schedules, our employees have been allowed to be flexible with their schedules. Some examples: working four 9’s with a half day on Friday, early risers who come in at 5 am and finish earlier.
Technology:
We believe that with advanced technology we can do more with less and provide a better return on investment to our clients. For this reason, we utilize the Autodesk Civil 3D platform for CAD within our Infrastructure Design Suite as our planning and design tool. All employees use a high performance desktop, laptop or tablet combination such as Microsoft Surface Pro’s or IPad. Each office computer is outfitted with large widescreen double monitors and connected to color copiers and a large format plotter. We use Microsoft Office 365 for the cloud for email services and a cloud-based accounting and timesheet software. Likewise, the latest Trimble equipment with GLNSS and robotic capabilities is used for surveying.
Mobile Construction Equipment:
Our construction managers are outfitted with Microsoft Surface Pros to enable digital construction notes, test forms and excel access from the cloud in the field. Bollig recently purchased a new construction trailer for use on our large projects that will allow us to maintain a true mobile office. (Side note: With advice from staff, it just so happens that the trailer can be stored on the ice this winter for employee use.)
Fun and Fellowship:
We have high expectations for the quality of work we produce, but also believe that our team’s performance can be optimized with time built in for a little fun to build fellowship amongst our team members. A few favorites have included: noon barbeques followed by an outdoor corn hole/beanbag toss tournament; our annual fantasy football draft party where the office is shut down for the afternoon for employees to enjoy barbeque ribs, appetizers, and a Bollig-league fantasy football draft session. (Participation in our Bollig Fantasy Football League is mandatory and becomes great fun when those with very little football savvy, win over those that have hand-picked their entire team.)
A picnic for employees and their families at the Stingers Baseball in the summer is always a fun event with nearly 100% participation.
